Block is a Status Effects in Darkest Dungeon 2. Status Effects are now used as Tokens that are guaranteed effects upon use during combat. These are sorted as Buffs, Debuffs, Stealth, Unique and Special effects. Some effects come from Skills and Trinkets. Skills can now cause a variety of effects that are shown by tokens. To see what each token means, each token can be moused over and the list of tokens can be viewed at the token glossary. This can also be done during combat.

Block Information

Block is a defense status effect in Darkest Dungeon 2 that has a guaranteed result upon use of the token. It allows players to anticipate an upcoming crit or high combat damage attack following turn and take preventative measure toe receive less damage. This is a guaranteed effect unlike the Dodge token. Where the dodge has a 50% rate of successfully blocking the whole attack, players must weight if the risk is worth having an incoming attack with a chance of  still receiving a hit, while block guarantees less damage and negative effects.

Just as Dodge has a greater equivalent to the base effect, there is a greater version of this status affect that prevents 75%, a 15% less damage intake known as Block +. These rare token status effect action should be used wisely and strategically
