Flagellant is a Hero (Class) in Darkest Dungeon 2. Heroes are the game's main characters that players may select to create their party. A party will consist of four Heroes and depending on their personality type, will react uniquely to different circumstances. This also plays an important role in how the whole party interacts with any in-game events, circumstances, and environments and how heroes may interact with each other, affecting their relationships and stress. Heroes will also each have their own set of Weapons, Armor, and Skills available to them and may develop Quirks over time further affecting the dynamic of the game.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Flagellant Hero Guide
The Flagellant is a unique hero in Darkest Dungeon 2, he thrives on taking punishment and is at his best when also at his worst. His attacks and skill tend to harm himself in the process while dealing damage to enemies or even healing the rest of his party. When the Flagellant is on Death's Door, he can gain various buffs but this is basically a dice roll since he's at critical HP. The Flagellant no longer deals bleeding DoTs to enemies but instead, his kit will revolve around Blight.
Flagellant can be considered a support and DPS hero. The party can advantage of his Blight abilities to deal damage to the enemy team while providing regeneration and restoring another party member's health. He has a high-risk and unconventional playstyle. His Suffer skill is an interesting move, as he can relieve any party member of Blight, Bleed, and Burn, but this will all be inflicted upon himself. This skill supports a party member by alleviating the status effects inflicted on them while the Flagellant takes the damage for himself, helping him reach Death's Door faster, and with that, gaining various buffs in the process. Lash's Gift restores some of the Flagellant's HP while buffing a party member's strength and defenses. The Deathless skill can restore a party member's HP at the cost of the Flagellant's HP.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Flagellant Skills Guide
Punish: Physical damage where the Flagellant strikes his flail to an opponent, dealing physical and blight damage.
Fester: The Flagellant destroys a corpse on the battlefield, inflicting blight on those that surround it.
Deathless: The Flagellant hurts himself to heal another hero in the party.
Endure: The Flagellant relieves a party member of stress while inflicting stress upon himself.
Lash's Gift: Restores some of the Flagellant's HP while buffing a party member's strength and defenses when he strikes himself with his flail.
Acid Rain: The Flagellant pummels opponents with a poisonous downpour dealing damage and blight.

Suffer: The Flagellant can relieve any party member of Blight, Bleed, and Burn, but this will all be inflicted upon himself.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Flagellant List of Skills
In order to increase the effectiveness of a skill in Darkest Dungeon 2, a player must obtain Mastery Points (which are shared across the team) and use them to upgrade or master the preferred skill. Mastering a skill only requires 1 point per skill in order to increase its stats. Now how do I earn and use Mastery Points? Mastery Points can be obtained as a random reward from winning enemy encounters when you are on the road, after using a Shrine of Reflection, or by completing or meeting certain quest goals.
Mastering a skill in Darkest Dungeon 2 can only be done at the Inn and by visiting the Mastery Trainer, there, you can apply your Mastery Points to the skill that you want to improve, as well as resetting it and reapplying it to a different skill if you change your mind. Take note that you can only redeem or respec your spent Mastery Points before you embark on a journey.
