Bosses are special Enemies that are uniquely named and must be defeated in order to unlock new areas, to progress the game, and to obtain various rewards. Hard Counter

The General's Dream Trophy, which permanently immobilizes your team at combat start, vastly simplifies this fight. Initial top priority should be to destroy the (Putrid?) Meat which attacks the front ranks. Then your team won't suffer any negative effects of the Harvest Hunger debuff.

Strategy Writeup

The team lineup used for this guide are Heroes who can withstand damaging attacks at the front lines while also protecting the rear party members who will focus on the offensive.

Recommended Team Lineup:

The Harvest Child is placed at the third and fourth rear positions of its party, while the front ranks consist of 2 piles of meat, namely Fetid Meat and Putrid Meat. Both meat piles can inflict the effect called Harvest Hunger, it has the ability to release an aroma that tempts Heroes to take a step forward to taste them. Tempting Aroma is the skill used to attack the back 2 party members while inflicting Harvest Hunger and Blind token effect. Mouthwatering Aroma is the skill used to attack the 2 front party members while inflicting Harvest Hunger and Vulnerable token effect. Once the heroes have succumbed to the Harvest Hunger ability and reached the front line, players will be forced to use the Skill called Feed the Hunger. Each time a player is forced to use this skill, the selected hero will heal 1 Stress damage but will lose 15% Max HP. If you do not control the fight, your Heroes will eventually reach such low Max HP that the boss will be able to 100-0 them, followed by death inflicted by DoTs.

The best strategy to go about this encounter is to first eliminate Putrid Meat (the big meat) in order to remove Mouthwatering Aroma (the one that targets the front ranks) as a factor. Killing both meats is not advisable because: 1) you will waste too much time during which your group will suffer; 2) this will make it so the boss will start spamming Maws of Life non-stop until it dies. Maws of Life (a direct reference to the Maws of Life of the Flesh from the first game) deals heavy damage to your front ranks and applies Bleed. It is by far the biggest threat in the fight once you've learned how to deal with everything else.

After the big meat is killed, you can turn your attention to the boss. Your two back ranks will still get hit by the small meat's Tempting Aroma, but they will not be able to reach the front. At this point the main threat becomes backline damage from the baby + the small meat. If the baby is in the back, it will attack your back ranks with Sapid Drippings and Tantalizing Tidbit, which will move it to the front. If it's in the front, it will use Maws of Life, which will move it back. Make sure to pay attention to your back two ranks as you continue damaging the boss and you will soon see victory.

The boss has high Blight resistance, like everything else in the Foetor, but is susceptible to Bleed and Burn. It has several turns per round, which makes DoTs highly efficient.

Items that deal with Blight damage will be useful for your back ranks, while items that deal with Bleed - for your front ranks.

Attacks & Counters

Attack Counter
Tempting Aroma - An attack that inflicts Harvest Hunger and Blind token effect on the back 2 party members. Placing heroes such as Hellion and Man at Arms at the front-lines are useful once this skill is activated because both have the ability to apply Immobilize to themselves, helping to keep the other heroes of your team from moving forward. You can also use Skills or Combat Items that can remove the Blind negative status effects such as the Man at Arms' Command or the item called Holy Water.
Mouthwatering Aroma - An attack that inflicts Harvest Hunger and Vulnerable token effect on the 2 front party members. The target of this skill are the 2 front party members, you can use skills or combat items that can remove the Vulnerable negative status effect such as the Man at Arms' Bolster or the item called Holy Water.
Tantalizing Tidbit - An attack that inflicts damage to a selected hero and while also inflicting +1 Stress, the Harvest Child also moves one rank forward after the attack. Using the Jester skill Inspiring Tune is useful to counter this attack as it helps in removing 2 Stress (3 if upgraded).
Maws of Life - An attack that damages the 2 front party members while also inflicting the Bleed token effect, the Harvest Child also moves at the rear of the party after the attack. The Plague Doctor's skill Battlefield Medicine can help cure the Bleed token effect inflicted on the selected heroes.
Sapid Drippings - A ranged attack that targets 2 heroes while inflicting them with the Blight token effect, the Harvest Child also moves one rank forward after the attack. Using the Plague Doctor's skill Ounce of Prevention is useful to counter this attack as it helps in granting the team Blight resistance while also removing 1 Stress each use. But if your heroes have already been hit, you can use the Plague Doctor's skill Battlefield Medicine to cure the Blight.
