Inn Items in Darkest Dungeon 2 is an item category that can directly benefit your heroes, it can heal, de-stress, bestow buffs, provide resistances to Bleeding, Blight, Burns, Stun, Debuffs, or Disease status effect. Inn Items can also sometimes increase the level of affinity between heroes. Not all Inn Items can be used, as it will depend on whether your selected hero has a negative status effect in place. Reaching an Inn is not as easy as it looks, if you manage to survive long enough to reach an Inn, you might just be able to salvage your run and find it to be a beneficial stop. Inn Items can only be used at the Inn.

How do I find Inn Items?

It's almost the same method as to how you would find any other items. You will need to scout and look for useful supplies to acquire Inn Items. While traveling on your Stagecoach, you need to pay attention to the road as there are random items laying on the ground that you can run over, running over these items can provide you small rewards of loot which you can use at the Inn.

There are also other ways to acquire Inn Items, you can buy Inn Items from Merchants on the road such as the Hoarder and at the Hospital, or choose The Provisioner at the Inn. Apart from that, you can also stop over Assitance Encounters to help those who are in need, and by doing so, they will provide you with random items, including some Inn Items. Normally, Inn Items can also be found as rewards for winning enemy road or stopover encounters.

How do I use Inn Items?

Inn Items are essential to your heroes, and one thing you can do is to utilize the Inn Items you've gathered along the way while you're at the Inn. It can restore health, reduce stress, and even give your heroes different buffs. But there are Inn Items you can't use, as negative effects bestowed upon a hero can get in the way with using some of your Inn Items. For example, you won't be able to apply the Inn Item "Boxing Gloves" if they have the Peacemaker trait, if you drag the Inn Item over that hero it'll show that the Boxing Gloves is Blocked and cannot be used.

As stated above, Inn Items can only be used at the Inn. To view Inn Items in your party's possession, open the inventory by pressing "I" and then select the Inn Items filter. To use an Inn Item, click the item in the inventory, then click and drag on the target hero. Items may affect 1, 2, or even all 4 heroes at once.
