Loathing is a Stat in Darkest Dungeon 2. Stats are the measurable values that determine the key factors during gameplay and Combat. These factors and features may effect Heroes and other Stat values positively or negatively and make up how effective specific mechanics are in the game. 

Darkest Dungeon 2 Loathing Information

• Type: Stat
• Effect: Shows the Evil overtaking the world. A higher Loathing makes it harder for the Heroes.

"Evil is overtaking the world, as shown by the LOATHING METER."  Loathing is a new stat feature found in Darkest Dungeon 2. It is indicated don't he top left corner with these symbols,  Higher loathing results in tougher conditions for the party. It also decreases  the chance at accumulating mastery points which are needed to upgrade Skills. 

• Loathing increases upon reaching every Inn.
• Loathing is reduced by winning fights at LOCATIONS.
  • Road battles don't count
  • Choose Resistance Encounter, Lair, Oblivion Ingress or Oblivion Rampart locations to reduce your Loathing by 1
• If loathing reaches 4 it will give the Mountain boss a permanent buff then reset to 0
  
  • First effect for ranks 1-3: +10% HP to Confession Boss
  • First effect for rank 4: +10% HP to Confession Boss, -1 Wheel, -1 Armor, -25 Flame
