Vestal is a Hero (Class) in Darkest Dungeon 2. Heroes are the games main characters that players may select to create their party. A party will consist of four Heroes and depending on their personality type, will react uniquely to different circumstances. This also plays an important role on how the whole party interacts with any in-game events, circumstances and environments and how heroes may interact with each other, affecting their relationships and stress. Heroes will also each have their own set of Weapons, Armor, and Skills available to them and may develop Quirks overtime further affecting the dynamic of the game.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Vestal Hero Guide
The Vestal hero in Darkest Dungeon 2 is both a support and DPS class that can move around the ranks of the team. An important part of her play is to choose which skills to use in combat encounters as Vestal has low speed and longer cooldowns, her unique Conviction token comes into play which is able to make some skills more powerful as Conviction stacks up.
Vestal's essential skills that should always be in her arsenal are both Consecration of Fortitude and Consecration of Light, as well as Sanctuary to grant the team positive tokens such as Strength, Crit, Dodge, Block, or Guarded while waiting turns to stack up on Conviction and use them on skills like Mace Bash to deal significant damage to the enemy team, or Divine Grace to heal her teammates.
Placing the Vestal at the back ranks of 3 and 4 is where the hero shines when it comes to supporting her team. Making use of Consecration of Fortitude and Consecration of Light along with Ministrations, it will give her the time to stack up on Conviction. Upon stacking 3 Conviction, Divine Grace can heal 50% HP. Judgement is also useful with its +100% DMG and 4 can take out several enemies by itself when the skill Crits.
When the Vestal is placed at the front ranks of 1 and 2, they can use Hand of Light to give herself and her team Strength and while stacking three Conviction, using Mace Bash can deal significant damage to the enemy team.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Vestal Skills Guide
Hand of Light: A melee skill that buffs the Vestal where she gets Strength and Block. This skill requires the Vestal to be positioned in the front ranks 1-2 of the team. When it is mastered, someone else on the team will get the strength buff. When positioned in rank 1, the Hero behind her will always get the buff, but if the Vestal is positioned in rank 2, it could be either the hero on rank 1 or 3.
Illumination: A ranged attack that's useful for disabling enemies that are buffed with Dodge and Stealth tokens. In order for this skill to be used, the Vestal would need to be positioned at ranks 2-4, and the enemy team must have a Dodge or Stealth token active. Upon using it on the enemy, it removes the Dodge or Stealth token, allowing your team to attack the enemy when it's their turn. Upon mastery, not only will it remove the buffs, but the enemy hit with this skill cannot gain Dodge for the next turn.
Judgement: A ranged attack that can also serve to nuke an enemy team. The conviction token will play a part when using this skill, and conviction token earned will depend on the player's chosen hero path. For the Wanderer, Vestal gets one conviction token at the start of every turn, wait two turns and Judgement will deal +100% DMG, waiting 3 turns it will deal 3 Burn. Upon mastery, waiting 3 turns will deal 4 Burn.
Divine Grace: Divine Grace is a healing skill that can target any hero of the team but requires the Vestal to be positioned at ranks 3-4. The healing threshold is low but after waiting for 2-3 turns, the Vestal's conviction stacks and it will increase the healing output.
Consecration of Fortitude: A unique skill that grants a party member a Dodge or Block token at the start of their turn. Vestal can be positioned at any rank and can place the skill at any rank as well.
Ministrations: This is a very useful skill that's a must-have for the Vestal's arsenal especially when faced with opponents that use Bleed, Blight, Burn, Dazed, or Stun attacks. If any Hero on the team has the mentioned effects inflicted on them, it will remove them. Upon mastery, the skill will also apply +30% RES for each token type removed on the inflicted Hero.
Mace Bash: A melee attack that requires the Vestal to be positioned at ranks 1 or 2 and can only target enemies placed at rank 1 or 2 as well. It has decent damage and upon stacking conviction twice, it ignores Block, Dodge, and Guarded. Stacking conviction three times will apply +100% DMG. Upon mastery, it will increase DMG to 6-8 and CRIT to 10%.
Sanctuary: A support skill that grants Block to Vestal herself and applies Guarded to the chosen hero. This skill is especially useful that can help in protecting other heroes that have low health or is at death's door.
Consecration of Light: A unique skill that's similar to Consecration of Fortitude, but this is the offensive version. It grants a party member Strength and increases CRIT at the start of their turn.
Divine Comfort: A healing skill that grants all party members regeneration, and when it's the hero's turn, they will regenerate 2HP. Upon mastery, it will regenerate 3HP. The Vestal must be positioned at ranks 2-4 to use this skill. This skill has a cooldown of four turns for the Vestal to be able to use it again.
Mantra: This skill will require the Vestal to have granted any Consecration down at any rank and it will heal 10% HP to whoever hero that's standing on the consecration. Upon mastery, if the Conviction is stacked twice, it will heal 20%, and when stacked three times, it will trigger the effect of any consecration.
