Cherub is an Enemy type in Darkest Dungeon 2. Enemies are opponents that will be encountered throughout the game during Combat stops while traveling on the Stagecoach. Some enemies are faced through specific encounters such as Cultist and Resistance Encounters. They are the main antagonists of the Heroes that they will have to fight off and defeat to progress and gain Mastery Points and treasures that will benefit the Party and reduce Loathing. Enemies in Darkest Dungeon consist of different types of creatures and enemy types, with their own set of stats and Skills. Players should be aware that these enemies can receive stat and combat bonuses should the Torch Flame reach a low point. 

Darkest Dungeon 2 Cherub Information

• Location: Random Cultist Encounters

• Cherubs are Cultists from the Cosmic faction in Darkest Dungeon 2. Cultists can be encountered throughout the different locations and biomes. A cultist encounter is sure to occur when passing Oblivion's Ingress throughout the maps. Fighting them also gives Heroes a chance to obtain exclusive Cultist Trinkets. CULTISTS emanate from the MOUNTAIN and the great evil contained therein. Cultist encounters are always a tough fight, but the rewards are equally valuable. Stave off the evil, reduce your LOATHING, and use the spoils to equip yourself for the final assault on the MOUNTAIN.

  A Cherub has a variety of attacks that deal additional effects. They can make Heroes Weak in addition to damaging them. This forces the character to deal 50% less damage during the next attack while afflicted with the Weak Effect. They also have a Sightless Miasma attack which inflicts a Hero with Blind giving them a 50% chance to miss their next dealt attack. Cosmic Cultists will usually have the ability to provide themselves buffs and obtain the Worship token, which allows them to Exult unspeakable Cosmic forces.

• Enfeebling Miasma - used on front 2 ranks, Weak +1 stress; self: Worship
• Sightless Miasma - used on back 2 ranks, Blind +1 stress; self: Worship
• Face your Confession - used on any rank, Horror; self: Worship
• Brisk Bedevilment - used when shuffled in the front 2 ranks, low damage, moves back 1; self: Worship
• Worship - only available in fights with Deacon/Cardinal present. Costs 2 tokens. Is cast automatically (does not take turn). Cures DoTs, heals and passes 1 Worship to the Deacon/Cardinal.

Cherub Notes, Tips & Trivia

• Unless your party is front-heavy, you should prioritize killing the Cherubs as quickly as possible. The longer they stay alive, the more they will inhibit and stress your party. Although they start with Dodge tokens and can gain more through abilities, their HP and resistances are very low. Furthermore, pulling them to the front 2 ranks will force them to use Brisk Bedevilment.
• Due to their high speed and tanks' low speed, using taunt will likely just end up with your taunter eating Enfeebling Miasma. Consider if you really want this.
