Creatures are an Enemy Faction in Darkest Dungeon 2. Enemies in the game are encountered in Factions, and do not mix with each other. Each enemy encounter will be a combination of enemies from one Faction type. There are seven factions found in this title, the Lost Battalion Cadavers, Cosmic Cultists, Gaunt, Fanatics, Pillagers, Swine, and Plague Eaters. Each Faction is generally found in one Location Biome, except Cultists and Pillagers since Cultist Encounters and Road Fights can be randomly triggered at anytime during the journey throughout the maps. Enemies from one factions share similar characteristics, but ultimately have their own set of Unique Skills. Enemies that don't fall into these Factions are usually found in the Echoes of the Past where Heroes explore enemies and ghosts of their memories.
